THE ENEMIES STRATEGY  

 Over the past few months there has been an increased
manifestation in the Body of Christ of depression, doubt, confusion and heaviness. I petitioned the Lord for revelation so that we could intercede and overcome the enemy. As always the Spirit of the Lord was gracious to show the works of the enemies hand.

 There has been a dramatic increase of demonic and witchcraft based toys, movies, books, video games, and T.V. shows. As Christians we are told to have no fellowship with darkness yet on a daily basis the enemy attempts to invade our home and minds with a host of demonic seeds. If we are not careful to protect our gates, our eyes and ears will feast on all manner of evil thereby making it difficult to discern holy from profane. When defilement happens it becomes hard to see clearly the attack of the enemy. Our sight becomes cloudy and spiritual clarity is diminished. This spiritual blindness comes upon us slowly and can unknowingly overcome us if we are not careful. When defilement does happen some will even defend their stance of compromise and stand vehemently on their right to taste all the world has to offer. This is not a time that we should stand in the dark, but instead we must overcome the darkness with Light.  

One of the most recent onslaughts of evil that has been unleashed to our unknowing world is the line of books written and marketed towards our children. The perpetrator is called Harry Potter. He along with a host of other demonic characters have been welcomed into American homes, embraced by society. The most recent release, "Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire" has won the title as the fastest selling books ever sold. Harry is a young teen boy who after being raised by adoptive parents finds out that he is actually a wizard. He then begins to attend a boarding school for apprentice wizards, witches and all manner of evil beings.  

Newsweek magazine published an article on 
July 17^{th 2000} that details many of the characters. It even has an excerpt from the latest release. The article expresses the "charm" of the fastest selling book in history. Young and old alike are purchasing it and the bookstores find it swept of the shelf every time they set more copies out. I firsthand experienced the excitement of a parent at a local Barnes and Nobles store. The mother with the toddler in tow exclaimed in excitement as she laid claim to the last copy on the shelf.  

It is not for the recognition of evil that I write about, but instead I speak a warning of an attack against the Body. The Word tells us that the power of life and death is in the tongue and how our fight is not against flesh and blood. These books are being read aloud throughout our land giving life to all manner of evil. Powers and principalities stand ready to receive the commands through the mouths and minds of unsuspecting men, woman and children. Spiritual wickedness is being increased with every sale of demonic books, tapes and games and most Christians haven't a clue why there is such heaviness upon their spirits.  

The necessity of spiritual warfare is greater now than in any point in history and we must stand alert to the enemies attack. Knowing that we possess all power and authority to overcome the hordes of darkness. We are not to fear the enemy, but instead we are to stand upon the victory we are promised. We can no longer turn our back and pretend that satan will not bother us. If we as a Body remain complacent, many will perish because of chosen ignorance. We are not ignorant of satans devices and it is time to recognize that we are at WAR.   

Upon reading the article in Newsweek the Spirit of God highlighted one particular spirit that has been unleashed towards Christians. Its name is dementor. In the book this is the name of a creature that guards the wizard prison. It is capable of sensing joy and happy thoughts and suck it and life from its victims.

When I researched the name farther I began to see a strikingly common pattern. I went to the root word in this demonic creatures name, dement.  I looked at the definition in the Websters 1828 dictionary and the meaning took on even greater significance.  You will begin to see the connection with the natural manifestations present within our Body today.  Recognizing that the battle indeed is in the mind, but the attack begins in the spirit realm.  

 DEMENTATE, mad;infatuated./DEMENTATE, v.t.  To make mad./DEMENTATION, n.  The act of making frantic.  

INFAT'UATE, v.t. [L. infatuo; in and fatuus, foolish.]

1.  To make foolish; to affect with folly; to weaken the intellectual powers, or to deprive of sound judgment.  In general, this word does not signify to deprive absolutely of rational powers and reduce to idiocy, but to deprive of sound judgment, so that a person infatuated acts in certain cases as a fool, or without common discretion and prudence.

2.  To prepossess or incline to a person or thing in a manner not justified by prudence or reason; to inspire with an extravagant or foolish passion, too obstinate to be controlled by reason.   

MAD, a.

1. Disordered in intellect; distracted; furious.
2.  Proceeding from disordered intellect or expressing it; 
3.  Enraged; furious
4.  Inflamed to excess with desire; excited with violent and unreasonable passion or appetite; infatuated; followed properly by after.
5.  Distracted with anxiety or trouble; extremely perplexed.
6.  Infatuated with folly.
7.  Inflamed with anger; very angry.  

Notice all the emotional manifestations of this spiritual assault. Most everyone that I have spoken and ministered to has been on an emotional roller coaster not knowing where the attack has been coming from. The level of spiritual maturity does not seem to matter. There has also been an increase in manifestation of physical aches and pains, specifically headaches and backaches. In medicine we commonly encounter a disorder called dementia, which is essentially mass confusion and inability to grasp reality. The enemy will stop at nothing to destroy the fruit of the harvest. We must be aware of this attack and intercede for each other.

The Word tells us that prudence and stability will be the strength in the latter days. Knowing this the enemy will use everything in his power to breed confusion and contempt within the Body of Christ. Looking at the definitions above you can see that this attack is meant to sour the fruit of the Spirit. The Spirit is highlighting TEMPERANCE in our fruit trees in this hour and satan will do everything in his power to spoil the harvest. We are not ignorant to his devices and will overcome in everyway.  

As we intercede we must also pull down the forces of darkness that are governed by the different toys, games, computer programs and cards. Another noted connection is between the "fire spell and character" cards. Most every one of the role playing games and card contain "fire spells and incantations" along with "fire spirits". This is only the tip of the iceberg but we have MIGHTY power to overcome by the hand of God. I pray the Lord will give us all eyes to see so we may help each other to become pure and holy without spot, wrinkle or blemish.
